According to a new biography, former President Barack Obama "considered gayness" in his college years before ultimately deciding on a more "challenging" heterosexual lifestyle.

The biography, Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, was penned by American historian, author and New York Times and Washington Post contributor David Garrow and is set for release on May 9. Garrow is a Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer, known best for his work on Martin Luther King Jr.

How can you "consider gayness"?

You're either gay, or you're not ... right?

I'm so confused. What are the rules for 2017?

Lesbians aren't always "born that way," as evidenced by the "Lesbian 'til graduation" phenomenon and the many lesbians I know with children from prior straight marriages. Gay men are another matter, though. That Obama could sit down and contemplate whether he wanted to be gay or not is ... really, really odd.

My two apple trees are blooming (one red, one green that cross pollinate). I was jumping for joy at the little apple buds, so I touched one and...

The bastard fell off !

I touched another one...

That bastard fell off aussi !

Now the trees are full of water from all the rain. I should have put some plastic over them, but the wind would have ripped it off anyway.

I'll just let mother nature run its course...and NOT touch the damned buds. I guess I should check and see if the rain and wind made them all drop.

No, I don't want to know. Je vais le vérifier dans une semaine...

"le" is a pronoun you know, and I always forget it when speaking. "le" as in "le arbre" or "l'arbre" or "it".

Hmm, how about "les arbres" (two tree's) Ah yes, another mistake, I want to say "them" - donc, je vais les vérifier dans une semaine.

Glad you have it all figured out. My theory is that sexual variation covers a very broad and mysterious spectrum, and that it's a fool's game to try to outwit the hungry id.

Michelle Dulak Thomson said, "That Obama could sit down and contemplate whether he wanted to be gay or not is ... really, really odd."

It does seem odd. I've been straight since I knew how to pee.

In women, there seems to be some degree of vagueness. Women tend to be pretty, after all. Kinda difficult not to be attracted to them. I forgive lesbians their tendencies (queue joke about the cowboy going into a lesbian bar).

Men are less vague. There are men attracted to other men, and some who switch-hit, but for most men, it's pretty binary.

But sitting down and contemplating...that's really odd. It bespeaks an older culture, one of which Obama is old enough to belong to, especially given the racial identity he has assumed. It bespeaks a desire to be something he's not.

Trump's 100 days will be considered the Worst by a POTUS. He is finished. He will be lucky if he gets to finish the 1st & last term. The next POTUS will be one of the top democrats - Kamala Harris, Mark Warner, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, to give a few examples. They will bury Trump and in 2020, we will have all - Senate, House, and, of course, WH.

Game over!

The irony is that all the 1000 and more reporters covering Trump will have nothing to cover (as they support Dems). So, what will happen to new NYT, Politico, WashPost, CNN, etc. reporters? In a few years, they will lose their jobs in re-organization and re-structure.

Speaking with The Daily Caller's Jamie Weinstein on The Jamie Weinstein Show, [the biography's author Pulitzer Prize winner David] Garrow declined to answer if Obama actually engaged in any homosexual activity. That is the non-answer to end all non-answers.

Everyone, Trump was finished on April 22 (April 23 covers in newspapers buried him). He is limping. He is disabled. He is on life-support. Now, it is the end of the beginning - end of 100. He cannot move forward. He has no brain, no smart people, etc. etc.

2018, GOP lose House and Senate. 2020, they keep those and get WH.

Watch out for the Heroes: Harris from CA, Booker from NJ, Warner from VA, and of course, Liz from MA.

Trump is probably sitting on a chair crying: Why did I run? How will I protect myself against them?

Today's millions marched against Trump. They are waiting already for the 2018 and 2020. The registration for votes is so full, that volunteers are not being hired. Everyone knows they have to register (where, when, and how).

Other than #1 choice Keven King, CB, Washington - the Packer draft was ho-hum.

The stupidist draft move was the Cleveland Browns trading out of the #12 draft position when they could have had Clemson QB Deshaun Watson (only to take two picks, an unknown TE and a player that nobody knows where he will play in the NFL). Finally, the leaderless Brownies took QB DeShone Kizer from Notre Dame.

Watson will start at Houston and Kizer is QB #4 in Browntown, who likely will not rise up to start for Cleveland - it is leadership and maturity, folks. Now we know why the city is known as "The Mistake by the Lake."

Girls/women tend to be more "flexible"; same-sex, three-way, "scenes," ugly, beautiful, old, young, well, the possibilities are limitless.

Years ago Diane Sawyer visited a large women's prison and was stunned when the inmates told her quite matter-of-factly that EVERYONE inside the facility had a "girlfriend." I suspect Sawyer faked her immediate moral "orgasm," which seemed to amuse the street-smart convicts.

When she regained her composure, Sawyer then asked, and I'm necessarily paraphrasing; "Are they, are many girls forced into these, uh, relationships?"

"No." Absolutely not," replied the chorus in perfect harmony.

But Trump, with a big tv audience, blew that off. He could have talked about a health care plan, and what he wanted. All that he did, was to spout those same campaign pablums about how "we" were going to get something great, with better care, that covered everybody, at less cost, and with lower premiums and deductibles.

And then, Trump had the nerve, to turn to Congressman Marino and say to him that he is expecting him to and the House to produce that result, and soon.

So Trump makes the promises, and tries to take the credit, and expects Congress to do the work for him. Like they were his grateful employees in the Trump Organization. Astonishing.

Ditto taxes. Trump just went back to stump speech material, about gigantic tax cuts. I listened carefully to Trump's Secretary of the Treasury and his National Economic Director last week, and they rather convincingly laid out a plan involving lowered rates and simplified, stripped-down deductions and exclusions from income, to make it all a lot more revenue neutral.

The pundits are calling this, "The most divisive speech ever delivered by an American president in the modern age." I'd agree; since Abraham Lincoln. But of course Lincoln gets credit for the greatest unification/healing speeches in American history as well.

Back in the 80's, when Waffle House opened one of their iconic yellow diners here in WPB, it was so busy the help couldn't keep up. On Sundays the waiting-line spilled into the parking lot - where you could hardly find a space. You'd think it was the only restaurant within a hundred miles, but a Denny's plus a dozen others were also nearby. No matter, everyone wanted to eat their 24/7 breakfast at the Waffle House - where the hash-browns were brown and the waffles were hot.

But in the end, no one wanted to "work" there; it was just too busy, the help was quitting left and right. So, they closed up shop and retreated back to Atlanta in less than a year. That was sad day here in West Palm, when our Waffle House was Gone With The Wind.

I don't have any obsession with you. I don't care about you. I don't know anything about you, and I don't want to know anything about you. I just do not care. Go to hell. Fuck off. And do us both a favor and never write about me again. Because I won't have any trouble at all forgetting about you.

Chuck, that is a piss poor apology! Anger management classes might prove beneficial.

Chuck,

Another commenter observed, on April 16, 2016

So much of the anti-Trump rhetoric is hysterical, hate-based and over the top. Take Chuck’s vituperation as an example: “lying assholes, mendacious Trump asshattery, Fuck you, You are a real fucking joke, You are an even bigger fool and a moron, God damn you eric!”

And that’s in the comments section of just one Althouse post. The rage is palpable.

For your own good, and the good of your family, consider anger management, Chuck. Life is too short to be so angry all the time.
You seem to be a time bomb on the verge of exploding.
I empathize. I was once prone to uncontrollable rage. I am much happier now that I can control it with introspection, deep breathing, meditation, and medication.

Freeman Hunt: Update on the prom folk?

I've heard no prom-related horror stories, though there have been other deaths. Many students couldn't get to their proms, many others had to stay with friends after. Adults should have known better.

Yes, Freeman, they should have. In what part of the country do you live? Did you get tornadoes, as well?

And now that I have your own confirmation that in the past you were using "bait" with me, I'll know better than to respond to you in the future.

But Chuck, people will just assume that you are afraid of him or acknowledge his supremacy over you, as is the case with you and me.
